The Master's Program cultivates intellectuals, advanced professionals, and researchers with a wealth of academic knowledge who are equipped with advanced understanding and specialized knowledge of their own and other cultures, who have a deep understanding of the symbiotic relationship between their own and other cultures, and who can actively participate in various fields in international and regional societies. The Department of International Cultural Studies fosters rich communication skills through the study of foreign languages, and provides students with the research skills to explore diverse social and cultural phenomena in Europe, America, Asia, and other regions of the world. Through this, the program aims to nurture talented individuals who can realize a truly multicultural society with a deep knowledge of the ever-changing international community and a broad perspective. In the Department of Japanese Studies, students will acquire research skills that will enable them to conduct Japanese studies in a truly international society by cultivating solid analytical skills for the Japanese language and Japanese language materials, and developing excellent cross-cultural comprehension skills that will enable them to objectively perceive Japanese culture. Through these efforts, the program aims to nurture talented individuals who can realize a truly multiculturally convivial society with a deep knowledge of changing regional societies and a broad perspective.
In the doctoral course, based on the education and research in the first semester, we aim for smooth acquisition of a doctoral degree through advanced coursework and a research guidance system with multiple faculty members, as well as to develop expertise in understanding one's own culture and different cultures from a symbiotic perspective and to develop advanced research skills to contribute to the development of international and regional society. The Department of International Cultural Studies aims to nurture highly specialized professionals and researchers who can contribute to the development of international and local communities through the establishment of a smooth doctoral degree and a research leadership system. The Department of International Cultural Studies cultivates human resources who are able to demonstrate their specialized knowledge of international society and problem-solving skills at a higher level, and who are able to work at the forefront of society as specialized educators and researchers, or as leaders and organizers in various fields. The Department of Japanese Studies cultivates individuals who are able to demonstrate expert knowledge of Japanese society and problem-solving skills at a higher level, and who are able to work at the forefront of society as specialized educators and researchers, or as leaders and organizers in various fields.
