Aichi Prefectural University is the place to learn such a broad approach to your goals
I decided to study in Japan because I wanted to learn about Japanese culture. In the Faculty of Japanese Culture at Aichi Prefectural University, there is an environment where you can study not only the culture itself, but also the faculty members who approach Japanese culture from diverse perspectives, such as geography, sociology, and ideology, allowing you to learn widely and deeply. Since I have not yet decided on my area of specialization (I do not belong to a seminar), I have chosen to study a wide range of classes that are useful for learning about culture, such as geography, sociology, human geography, contemporary Japanese society theory, and material studies. In addition to undergraduate classes, students take a wide range of liberal arts courses. In particular, the "Comparative Cultural Sociology" class is a class that many exchange students take, allowing them to take classes while interacting not only with Japanese students but also with students from around the world. I really enjoy being able to participate in discussions while experiencing firsthand how people from different countries think.
"A university where people are kind to each other and encourage each other even when you feel discouraged."
Japanese students, teachers, and staff are all very kind, and I am impressed by the great atmosphere of studying at the university as a whole. Whenever I feel like giving up on balancing my part-time job with my studies, I am often encouraged by the efforts of my friends. The teachers are also warm and they value our interaction with each other. When I participated in a gyoza (Chinese dumpling) party hosted by one of the teachers, I was very impressed by the cultural exchange through the differences between Japanese and Chinese gyoza.
Message to Future Aichi Prefectural University International Students
If you want to learn about Japanese culture, Aichi Prefectural University is the best place for you! Because it is good to learn not only the culture itself, but also sociology, geography, ideology, and many other perspectives. There are many international students from other countries here, so you are not only interacting with Japanese people. It will surely be a good experience to meet a wide range of opinions. I would like more international students to come! We welcome them!
